About CCTI at Widener University School of Law

The Corporate Counsel Technology Institute (CCTI) was established to become the major legal technology resource for the Corporate Law Community.

CCTI is distinguished by:

• its skills in providing the corporate law community with the tools necessary to efficiently manage complex litigation.
• its facilitation role of an interactive forum, focused on:

As an arm of the Widener University School of Law, CCTI provides educational and consulting services to faculty and corporate counsel and develops law curricula with an increased focus on the technology needs of corporate counsel.

Biography

Richard K. Herrmann is a partner in Morris James' Intellectual Property Group. His practice includes many forms of complex litigation, including intellectual property, commercial and technology.

Mr. Herrmann co-chairs the United States District Court's Technology Committee and is a member of the District Court's Advisory Committee. He served as a member of the District Court's Ad Hoc Committee responsible for drafting the Court's Electronic Discovery Default Standard.
Mr. Herrmann has been actively practicing patent litigation in the District of Delaware for more than 15 years. Representative clients have included Alcon, Allied Signal, Allergan, Amgen, Amoco, Borg Warner, Dow, GlaxoSmithKline, Interdigital, Micron, Motorola, and Netscape. Representative law firms have included Finnegan Henderson, Hovey Williams, Kelly Drye, Kirkland & Ellis, Milbank, Paul Hastings, Sidley Austin, and Winston & Strawn.

Mr. Herrmann chairs the Delaware State Bar Association's Technology Committee and is former Chair of that Association's Computer Law Section. He teaches Electronic Discovery for the National Judicial College and Widener University School of Law. In November 2004, Mr. Herrmann was named as one of Delaware's "Power Attorneys" by Delaware Today magazine. He was also selected by his peers as one of "The Best Lawyers in America (2005, 2006 and 2007 editions)."
